Through a survey of 100 retail executives, Retail TouchPoints and Magnetic were able to uncover current engagement strategies and business challenges that are preventing them from meeting customer expectations.
Severe gap between consumers' expectations and retail strategies
Key insights from the study included:
- Only 55% of retailers send emails featuring relevant information such as reviews, recommendations, sales or trends
- 50% of consumers surveyed say that they regularly see emails with irrelevant information
- 71% of retailers claim that they send tailored messages to people either often or almost always
- Only half of retailers (50%) know what messages and offers resonate with customers
